Part of the joy of having the farm, is inviting guests........
and this weekend was no exception......
yes......yes..............you have all seen the 'crib out in the garden' look, and my intention was to do it all in whites.......grays........and well.........i simply couldn't help myself with color.............
The prairie HAS grown some flowers this year! (hurrah) and I had the most delightful walk with a young lady through the tall sweeping grasses...........
The prairie HAS grown some flowers this year! (hurrah) and I had the most delightful walk with a young lady through the tall sweeping grasses...........I worked tirelessly to complete the 'patio' off the side of the house that leads to the other garden paths........it was going to be brick pavers, but the sound of walking on the gravel, the feeling it evokes, won my heart.....and fit right into the rest of the Jardin.................
my father custom made these chairs and table for us..............love them............

and I painted and added decal to the young children's school chairs.......

and I painted and added decal to the young children's school chairs.......the sweetest little baby was here.......under the river birch tree branches..............and she was enamored with the rustling noises and twinkles in the branches from the sun.......

I'm so sure you are saying "oh Anne Marie........not another picture of the corn crib........."
too bad
just look at those clouds! ..................
and check this out!
yup..........a tornado...............it never touched down......but we kept a close eye on this one....
none of us had ever really seen a tornado like that..........
not a drop of water came to the farm......leaving the day beautiful...........

~Hoping you all had a wonderful holiday~

Great pics, Anne Marie! I too love color...while I love the peacefulness of soft whites and dreamy pastels, I love a splash of color. Those pillows look great on the crib.
ReplyDeleteI also love that tornado pic. When I was still teaching I had a 3rd grade student whose father was a storm chaser. He would share the most amazing photographs with my class.
Blessings to you from Kansas,
Valerie

ReplyDeleteDear Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteYour farm is so beautiful!!! I love what you did with the 'crib in the garden', it looks so pretty and comfy! Love the prairie flower in your sweet friend's hair.
The patio is lovely! I can almost hear the sound the gravel makes... I love that sound. The chairs and table your dad made are beautiful. Love the sweet decals you added to the little chairs. Oh, that little baby is so sweet. You can see her interest in those rustling noises.
I think the corn crib is so picturesque, and the photo of the tornado is amazing!!! So glad it never touched down!
Love, Paula
Your picture make me feel as if I'm right there with you. Now if only I lived closer.
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful!!!! Scary tornado though, glad it didn't touch down. How do you get your pics so clear and crisp. And i adore queen anne's lace. Looks like a charming holiday!!

The clouds are gorgeous! But, the tornado...oh.my.stars...were y'all terrified?
ReplyDeletefunny thing Madeline.....about living in the country where there simply is no need for the weather channel.........you can just 'tell' what the weather will do....which way the clouds are moving.....and there wasn't an ounce of fear.......just amazement....a good reminder that there is something more powerful than us.........
