We all need shelter.............

but my main concern here is NOT the planet, but the people that are in it.....
there's this great saying which goes: "treat others like you want to be treated"
from the rain.........

to have a place to sleep.........
from a heart ache.........

from harm.........
the shelter that surrounds us, whether it's physical or mental.....
needs to be protected - and that is exactly what each of us need to do...........
needs to be protected - and that is exactly what each of us need to do...........you are the one
When you don't help others, then their shelter will crumble all around them and leave them in a desolate place............alone............

I don't know about you.......but I certainly cannot hold all this up myself - indeed not......
e-mail someone who you think needs it..........say your sorry for whatever wrong you have done....go pull weeds in your neighbor's vegetable garden.........
if you aren't already helping others, then pretty much get off your bum and help!...........
if it means inviting your friends over for a night of jolly fun.........okay........
giving your pig an extra nibble at supper...........that's fine too.....
but my main concern here is NOT the planet, but the people that are in it.....
there's this great saying which goes: "treat others like you want to be treated"
it is that simple
do you want to starve?..............do you want to go through winter freezing?............
i didn't think so
just think about it..........and next time you see that woman at your local grocery store who drops her keys, her children run into the parking lot, and you wonder how she can feed her children on only beans and rice (which you saw at the checkout)........well.......for God's sake! help her!!
whatever it takes......
maybe a simple prayer? a little extra money? a meal? a smile?
there are way too many times I see others just passing by when they should be stopping to lend a hand and reaching out.....
nature reminds us of this......always reaching..........

~you just have to listen from your heart, and not just observe with your eyes~

This is a beatiful and very inspiring post. You have touched my heart. THank you..
ReplyDeleteHi Anne Marie - Beautiful, thoughtful post.
ReplyDeleteYou know something I do not share often, is that many years ago I was too sick to work. I took a year off and as you can imagine toward the end of that year I was running out of savings. There was no money for anything other than surviving – just! I even had to question if I could buy myself a cappuccino. Well I had a friend who owned a restaurant, and although it was very difficult for me to accept charity, this friend would often invite me over for a meal and her Chef, whom I had only just met, would take me to the movies sometimes.
I cannot tell you what it meant to me just to go to the movies. A luxury!! Every Xmas in her honour I donate Movies tickets to the needy so they can 'just enjoy' a little instead of 'just surviving'.
Your thoughtful post have prompted me to share this as you never know who in your circle of friends and acquaintances is struggling and just a little kindness can make life seem easier and give hope.
Great Post xx Julie
What a lovely post. This is so true.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great reminder about The Golden Rule.
ReplyDeleteThanks much. I needed it today :)
Oh, what a wonderful philosophy and so true....I will try to follow it through today. XXXX
ReplyDeleteHello, just leaving you a comment as I've so enjoyed looking around your site and reading your lovely posts. Great pictures too !
ReplyDeleteThank so much for sharing them and I hope you have a fab weekend (well, the rest of it anyway...)!
Best wishes to you
I adore your post this morning...what a lovely message for us all!!! Wouldn't the world be so much better if we all did just that!
ReplyDeletewell said...will do my part..:) have a wonderful weekend.:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful post, Anne Marie. I pride myself on being an observer. Sometimes my kids think I am nosy. Maybe I wasn't being charitable the other day, but in Target, I heard a man yelling at his wife, berating her. I was staring, and then intentionally staring because I wanted to catch his eye, to let him know he had no right, that he was a fool. Needless to say, they went on their way and my daughter was embarassed.
ReplyDeleteWe can't just be onlookers. There are ways to be helpful without being obvious. As some people are too proud for charity, there are others that don't know they are in a situation they don't have to be in.
Oh, you have me thinking today!!
xoxo

Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteYour big heart is what we all love about you. It is especially important now to reach out and help when ever we can.
Thank you for the reminder!!!

Dearest Ann Marie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. It is the truth and thank you for the gentle reminder; how beautiful you are...thank you for coming to our little play in the City of Lights! Sorry about the cab situation, however! Paris is a crazy place but you still looked WONDERFUL!!!!! God bless your heart and family...Anita
What a beautiful, heart-felt post! Thank you for sharing this with us.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true it hurts. I know we can all feel our own pain all to accutely, but the best way out of our own pain is to comfort someone else in their need. Thanks for your forever reminders to live a more meaningful life by sheltering those around us!I'm so glad to call myself a Nada Farm Chic, even if I don't have a farm!
ReplyDeletewonderful sentiment here in your post...reaching out, and yet such a simple thing seems so hard for most folk? after all it IS all about the people, indeed! i love the red umbrella rain shot and the sweet, sweet angel! count me in for b&w sunday!! enjoy your sunday!
ReplyDeleteerin
