Living out here in the country,
can get mighty lonesome sometimes.....
lately, I have been becoming "part of the prairie".....
don't freak out now, I'm still sane...i think....
what I mean is, it has brought me so much peace and inspiration.....
When I am blessed to have people stay over at the farm, some might say "you go overboard".....or "you shouldn't have"......or such things,
but to me, my home is a part of who I am, and I had the most fun recently putting together a whole room for a visitor who stayed nearly 5 days.........
and it was worth every minute of my preparation
taking time out between jaunts to and from the prairie to fill my room.....
.....a little flute playing.....

I feel sometimes too, Anne Marie, when I prepare a guest room at the lake...am I fussing too much or am I being a good hostess? I try to creat a warm and gratious feel to my home, yet others might do less and I still feel welcome in their homes.
ReplyDeleteI guess the bottom line is to make my Lakehouse the home I enjoy, the guestrooms what I would enjoy, in the case perhaps if the hubs started to snore so much that I had to evacuate the master bedroom, and if the guests don't like it, there is a Holiday Inn 5 miles away!!
Can't wait to see the rest of the transformation, my friend!!

ReplyDeleteHi Anne Marie--
ReplyDeleteI am of the belief that one should do what please them--if that means
"going overboard" so be it! If it pleases you then that is ALL that
matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteGood grief girl.
I hold you in the highest esteem.
On the "overboard" note, surely it is love that causes one to prepare and prepare and add the special details (like Ugandan dark chocolate and decaf coffee...). Your details are not missed and very much appreciated.
What a shin dig girl! I hope you enjoy that cake (I hope just about as much that it turned out OK) and I hope you take some time in the Prairie this week to get restored after such a display of hospitality!
