so there simply is no excuse! for me...........
well..........
except maybe these 6.......
or how about this:
or this:
and much.......much.......more chores like this:
My dream party isn't going to happen..........and it hasn't happened.........and never will happen...................and that's okay...........................my pride has been ground into the dirt by my own foot, and will stay there....................even if that means no big pig roast............new landscaping............burlap runners and stenciled banners.............I'll make do, and no one coming to our party is going to care........and if they do: then don't come..........or leave your pride at the barn door as well..........I'll even help you grind it in the dirt too........
Enjoy this day.......it'll never happen again!
pictures of last year's party will be posted on Thursday..............

love the photos you take.:)
ReplyDeleteAh, you'll have that party--just not yet! I love the cosmos--I plant them every year from seeds I harvest each fall.
ReplyDeleteI think your 6 reasons are beautiful ones ... Have a beautiful week. TTFN ~ Marydon
ReplyDeleteThose photos of barn parties, the pictures in the magazines, they are only symbols of the life you are already living, with its joys and simple pleasures. You already have it all...and know what's truly important. Thanks for the reminder that I need to do the same.
ReplyDeleteOoooooooooooooh, I feel you.
ReplyDeleteI am so picky I get ticked if someone comes to my Christmas party in JEANS! Because in my head I have this image conjured up of that scene in "Breakfast and Tiffanys" where its wall to wall people, all swanky and and dancing to cool music...all glitter and glamour...me being the french twisted Holly GoLightly of course...minus the call girl part and all-
I have a thousand parties planned to the "T" in my head...alas...
If I had a farm, well, my imagination for the perfect party might get the best of me too! But I tell you what, it sounds cliche but the rest of us won't know the difference. You are so dang creative and thoughtful about your entertaining (and EVERYTHING that you do) that I am sure even sans barn and pig and it is going to be
AMAZING!!!
Actually, no pressure but its all I am thinking about this week and I'll ask you again...
WHAT IS MY PREGNANT BUTT GOING TO WEAR???
And yes, I'll bring the cake - was planning on it - way to ruin the surprise Anne.
PS Important question - do you like "Ladies Mantle"?
As Marydon said, you have 6 beautiful reasons. I'd want nothing more...

Jane
Girl you got it goin' on without the "perfect" parties.
ReplyDeletelooks ike it will be a perfect party no matter what :-)you guys are so amazing, who needs a fancy party, what matters is the love and warmth you all have to pour out on others.
ReplyDeleteOh Bless your heart Anne Marie, You've got me trying for #3.
ReplyDeleteI love you and your honesty.
I feel the same way sometimes. Everything is so glamorized and staged in magazines. Not to mention all the money and help they have to pull it off. And I know this, yet I still want it all too. My pride is @ the door as well. I wish I were close enough to come to your house just to hang out in my muck boots, and an apron to jump right in and do some farm chores with you while we chat and watch the kids play. I can dream too can't I ?! ;)
Blessings,
Molly
I'm from England and we don't really have barn parties, but I know people who own farms and have parties and they are the best...casual, people bring food, you don't wear designer and things don't run like clockwork....and that's how they should be....friends and family enjoying a wonderful get together which, I'm sure, is how yours are.
