So, I have now had 3 requests to do that "honest scrap" thingy, and to give you 10 things that you might not know about me...........so here goes.............
1) I used to be a platinum blonde, and right before that had dread locks done in Florida..... (a.k.a. Anne Marie hates her hair).....
2) I once tried out for an MC Hammer dance video............
(p.s. didn't have a chance)
3) if i could choose one profession, other than being a mother, it would be a hermit...always praising and thanking God for everything He's done for me (without distractions)...which brings me to a thought......I think I'll start that now.......within my vocation of wife/mother!
4) I praise God for everything He has done for me.......;)
5) I have written over 4 books.........and never have had the nerve to attempt getting them published.........
6) I have what I call "I can do that" disease.........even if I'm at an art show, and see a welded bench, I don't buy it, but simply say "I can do that"........(p.s. I don't know how to weld)
7) my couch doesn't stay in the same place more than 2 weeks..........
8) to get over heights, I taught myself how to repel down a cliff........solo......
9) when I used to teach kickboxing and personal trained people, my 'style' was a lot like that of Turbo Jam's 'founder'.......Chalene Johnson........I secretly want to attend a Chalene Johnson aerobics class with my sista Chris...."yee ha! my sista!"..............
10) when I get home from vacation, only then, do I relax..........(I don't like vacations so much - the farm is my home and truly a daily respite)
and one more thing..........that you might not know about me..........I adore all of you and your comments.......and now understand the power of an online journal..............
p.s. please don't be offended if I don't send it out to 10 people I know okay?
Neat post!
ReplyDeleteMC Hammer? How funny :+)
I just stumbled onto your blog via
"Musings from a french cottage".
I'm happy I visited!
Have a great day
Surely you could publish *one* of the books? As I read your blog, I often think I should like to read more...
ReplyDeleteLaura.
PS: I almost entered religious life myself. But then I realised I was already *in* religious life! I just needed to look at it a bit differently!
;)
I so enjoy your posts. When we vacation it takes a week back at home to REST from the vacation. I understand ...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week. TTFN ~Marydon
Anne Marie...you never stop amazing me. I've learned a lot of things about you I wouldn't have figured. I say that as a compliment....truly. You are like the modern day renaissance woman....with a little nostalgia thrown in for good measure!
ReplyDeletexxx...C
ps...I've had a few of those honest thingies sent my way and I'm a little hesitant...lol

M.C. Hammer?!?! I remember trying to learn his dance moves in our living room with my sister! This was fun. P.S. I would buy and read your books :)
ReplyDeleteI loved hearing your 10 things about you, Anne Marie...a few of them were suprising to me...I don't know why. I think that we conjure up a mental picture of people (which is silly!!!!) You should send your books to a publisher. The worst they can say is 'no'. Thanks for sharing your 10 things. XXXX
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I can see we would get along quite well in person...except for the repeling, I am terribly afraid of heights and do not think I can cure myself!
ReplyDeleteI think you should go for it and attempt to get your books published...how incredible that you've written 4 books!!!
Loved your list Anne Marie :)
:) T
You are always surprising us! It's what makes us keep coming back for more!
ReplyDeleteTake care, Laura
FOUR BOOKS!!! KICKBOXING? MC HAMMER? I think you are a VERY interesting person and I would have never known! WOW! I would love it if you could get those books published, can you tell us what you wrote about?
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Joni
Dred locks? MC Hammer? I am quite shocked.
ReplyDeleteDear Anne Marie-
ReplyDeleteYou are indeed a Renaissance woman of God-
What a wonderful model you are for your children.
Bravo!
Laura
This is YOUR year and I say get one of those books in progress to a publisher...you never know, dear Anne Marie----jump in!
ReplyDeleteLovely images, as always.

I too conquered my fear of heights - with a bungee jump (solo) and prefer my farm house to holidays anytime. It is my haven. And like you - I give praise everyday to that universe that is so bountiful! Looking forward to more... (PS - I can't weld either - YET!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteOk, from one person with "I can do that" syndrome to another...
ReplyDeleteI spit my breakfast when I read the MC Hammer thing. I went to an "inner city" high school myself- and learned many-a-Hammer routine in the living rooms of my girlfriends -
I'd bet we know the same moves.
PS, I've always wanted to be blond. Dreads...not so much.
Girl --- anyone who can and does teach themselves to repel down a cliff and who has the guts to try out for a music video (of any kind)....can present written books for publishing. I love that you have written them --- I'd also love to read them. You write so beautifully and with such honesty -- I say go for it !!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading your Honest Scrap. :)
