'the land of charming'......

this past weekend, we were invited to our friend's home in Wayne.....a wonderful community of horse loving naturalists........well, at least our friends are.......
the kindest most generous people I think I have ever met......and this is their home........

~however~
something came up and weren't able to go there Saturday, but I have been wanting to post these pictures of their absolutely charming home......it's as though you are transformed into
'the land of charming' I swear.............
what's this? yes........a tour in their golf cart for their property that expands more land than I can remember
...........so beautiful.........
along the way, they own 3 ponds, and it's a wildlife habitat with many blue herons that nest within the lush woodland and fantastic green algae upon the water's top that they eat for nutrition.........stunning.........
a boy's dream........
the city's oldest water tower sits on their property......that pumped water to the original home's 3rd floor (a first in those days and quite a luxury still I believe!)
the inside is SO charming!! she found this chandelier curbside! and is now the most spectacular playhouse a girl or boy could dream.........

yes, these are their swans........I could live here - I'd even take that nest if i could...........

not only do they ride and house beautiful horses, but also these gorgeous hounds........

needless to say...........their energy........love for people.......compassion for animals.......and beautiful surroundings have touched us so tenderly-
but their glory in God shines through their 'land of charming'......
I hope you enjoyed this tour of our dear friends, but more importantly understand this:
they didn't start out with a single dollar to their name.....they worked hard the whole way to where they are now..........all the while, praising God.........
~quite the family~
go and live your life, and don't turn down hard work and sacrifice

  4. If you're talking about Wayne, IL than you must live somewhere near me because I grew up in the town next to Wayne and am now about 1/2 from there. At any rate, it looks like a truly beautiful home and property...and your friends sound like wonderful people!!!

Hope you are having a great day Anne Marie!

  12. I'm ashamed to say that I have not dropped by in quite awhile. I hadn't even seen your new header. Which is wonderful by the way! I enjoyed this post. There are many many times when I would just love to move to the country, away from everything and enjoy nature. Thank you for sharing a little bit of it with all of us. Your friends property is indeed "charming."
