Before summer is over, I wanted to share my sunroom makeover I have done....these pictures were taken in June, and since then, I have added a few more things....which are more geared towards enjoying this room in the autumn months....
this antique gate was hung on the wall per my husband's idea....
and I'm so glad he thought of it!
it's a great place to savor the aroma of herbs, and treasured items
with the dappled sunlight, the ferns were thriving in here.....and next year I'm hoping to get a few orchids....
it would be a dream of mine to include some more conservatory plants in here as well.......
this room is simply the best for reading and sleeping....with all the casement windows the breezes and the sounds of the birds in the surrounding trees completely calm you....
we have brought many pieces of our found treasures in here........shells and nests.......skulls and flowers.....
~here's to a great rest of your week~
xo+blessings,
what a great space

I love the gate on the wall, it works!
ReplyDeleteThat's the same loop wire fencing we want to put around our potager, it took forever to find a source for it and I was so excited to find its still produced.Timeless.
I wish I lived closer, I'd be at the barn sale in a heartbeat!
Have a great week, Lynea

Love the room, clean, white, and calming...rather Nordic looking as in Carl Larsson, the painter.

Hi. It is lovely. Look forward to reading more of your blog and your barn sale. Isn't it beautiful when your child falls asleep on your shoulder. I now get to experience it with our first baby granddaughter.

Oh to have a room like this! I wonder if I would ever leave, or ever get anything done? I would want to lay here and take in the beautiful nature around me. Anne Marie, you really live a wonderful life. I am thrilled that you are so blessed.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if I could steal your idea of the frame in your post a few days back, for my little shack in the woods. It is getting a freshening up, and I have an old frame much like yours.
So if you see it on my blog sometime, I hope it will be okay. I just love the picture hanging from the little string and the whole look of it.
Thank you for all the inspiration I get here.
hugs to you...
June....OF COURSE I DON'T MIND! can't wait to see what you do :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this room, wish I had one....you know what my favorite design "thing" is, the garden gate, I have always loved those old gates....smiles, Linda
ReplyDelete*smiling* here because the gate you hung is the same as our yard gates in our new-to-us/90YO farmhouse complete with bells so one knows when a guest has arrived.
