na-da farm easter baskets...

Easter baskets here on the farm come straight from my kitchen -
(except for jelly beans....which I haven't tried yet)


homemade Bunny Breads filled with chocolate......




"na-da peeps"

(last year they looked like heffalumps)


and little cookie baskets filled with green coconut and natural fruit juice jelly beans

there's also these beauties, which are more for my husband and myself........
~chocolate covered peanut butter eggs with caramel drizzle~


I have my work cut out for me this week with making all those treats, but that's just how it is here.......it's a tradition now, to hand make the baskets........

I'm sure you are all getting ready yourselves.......

isn't getting ready so fun!?!

I love the cleaning.......the baking........the sewing........

I truly feel like I'm a Mama at this time of the year, when I get the privilege to give my kids and husband these special treats.

some of the grounds were constructed by man yes, but so heavenly put together......


the three of us walked practically in silence -

even though this holy week brings remembrance of His sufferings, but also the peace we know within...through Him and with Him

my prayers are with all of you who are going through the same spirituality right now.......

and for all of you who don't agree with me......

one thing is for certain.....


~we all desire peace...to give and to receive~

so peace be with you all this holy week.........et cum spiritu tuo

structure.......

(Na-Da Farm Potager pictured above)

Stacey at the Blessed Nest had a post today, that I decided to join in..........because to me, and my farm, we need structure.........the lines are blurred after the plants are filled in..........

especially love it in the Potager (kitchen garden)........

even in the winter looking at the Potager's layout is pleasing to me.....

my eye rests on the structure but is inspired by the nature that surrounds it.......



everywhere on the farm there is structure........rocks.......paths..........gravel.......

I don't usually link and do things like that, but I really think it's important! in gardens for structure..............

So thank you! Stacey for getting that idea out there........

back in that corner see? where the buffet is? THAT is where I want either
2 couches built with tufted backs (most likely), swag the chandelier over the table (a new/old one of course - like this one) and then X out all the chairs, and go with a bench and one wing back for 'the master of the house'

one way......

I don't look at my vocation as wife and mother as a dead end


when I took this picture, I realized a few things:

~ I like breaking through the walls and revealing what's underneath to you all (but not completely....some things are just too personal)

~sometimes I cannot see into my soul deep enough.......and for good reason, it's just not time for such awareness

~there is only one way to happiness, and that is to love God and truly
live out my life as wife/mother in THE best way I know how

Preparing for the sale, sewing....shopping.....has actually not been a distraction from my Lenten devotions, but rather, given me one way to remind myself
that I am a receiver.........of life........of new ideas.......
all from Him

only through sacrifice can we end up 'one way'

the inevitable

I was trying to be all serious taking these photos the other day.....getting the light just right.....putting the feathers just so....

but then I took a closer look at this old photo I put in a flower frog, and realized something....


that's going to be me in about 50 years.


so I diverted my attention to the eggs......under the cloche I took off the new cabinet

Gilberta (God bless her) has been blessing us with 2 eggs a day! lately.......

and then we have a few hens who are laying all sorts of brown colors this year.........

we all need change in our life! there is no better time than now to introduce change

some say chickens (the bird brains that they are) are just "creatures of habit"

yes, this could be true to a point, but I see Sir Charles leading 'his ladies' in all sorts of directions, exploring new areas of the farm, getting close to cats, taking risks by laying 3 or even 4 eggs a day.......so I say "no!" they are not creatures of habit, but rather, they know their purpose, and they enjoy life.

but alas.......I digress.........

I'm going to turn out to be this toothless lady aren't I
sorry babe.

okay, so this sounds like the easy way out, posting about someone else - but HOW COULD I RESIST?!??

This lady here, well, she just had a baby like a month ago (THE cutest baby) and this picture you see? well, that's just a little project she did this past week - painting..........switching her dining room/living room...........totally jaw dropping AWESOME!........

what an inspiration!! she has my wheel turning even more than usual............she has a way of doing that to me........and to so many others..........go take a look - you will NOT regret it.......

I could not think of a title for this post.......

for when I am entering spring, and I can feel the warm breeze and the inviting sun upon my face, it brings me such a peace within......

taking a hike through the woods.......there is much more than barren trees.....remember, they are alive still.......and even if they have fallen, the Lord covers them in beauty still.....

discovering a tepee? in the middle of the forest........a pleasant surprise for my companion.....


yes, so Anne Marie is getting philosophical.......I cannot help but see more clearly when in nature....

like an empty tomb.......let's empty yourself

totally and completely.........in order to let something better you as a person.....

you have to let it all go

all that worry and anxiety (who needs it!)

your soul will shine.......just accept your position in life and be joyous in it!!
