Fresh and wonderful...

growing amongst the peonies and daisies is French lavender

tied in a bundle hanging from your favorite vintage fan in your kitchen while you are doing the dishes, or while slaving over a hot stove for your family....you might just get a glimpse of feeling as though you are in France, amongst lavender fields and cool ocean breezes....
well....maybe not...

but it really does smell freshly wonderful!

don't let this day pass without smelling something fresh and wonderful

p.s. UPDATE! For those of you who have e-mailed me for these little lavender bundles for your fans, you can now order them here.....

AND SUZANNE!!! from Privet and Holly WON THE GIVEAWAY!!

late May...

my kitchen garden...is really called my Potager (as most of you already know)

and I am BEYOND embarrassed from those of you who took tours through the gardens to not see much color and smell much fragrance......(like the privet shown here that is now blooming...that has the most delicious fresh smell)

however

my gardens need to redeem themselves! so here's a few pictures I took this past week that I wanted to share with you

and as far as inside the Potager is concerned.....it was the paths and my favorite statue that rests on top of an antique urn.....

but now.....we planted 4 Arborvitae in the center, and someday they will be joined at the top to create a living gazebo....
it's beautiful to be living isn't it?...take this day and think nothing but beautiful thoughts

toss away all ill will and unrest, like you would the weeds in the garden

and open your life to the beauty that surrounds you

have a wonderful weekend!

Decorating from a Na-Da Farm Barn sale...and a giveaway

What do you do with those items you purchased from my Na-Da Farm barn sale?

Were they purchased just for that vignette you craved? or was it a random purchase because of your instant attraction to it?...

could it have been an Elizabeth you bought? or a unique peacock belt I stitched at the farm for you? and it now is hanging on a hook in your entry?

was it made from recycled pieces of architecture and now it resides on your coffee table?

or where you just totally inspired by the truckload your purchased that it inspired you to now plan a sale to help support local artisans and antique dealers at your farm?

maybe you just bought Lavender Shea Butter Soap from the sale from Angela and it invokes an organic
French feeling within your très chic powder room.......

Did it change the look of your room......you love it.....and now are going with a
Jeanne d'Arc
look?

or the chicken wire cloche from Joy, which cradles a pillar candle on the patio?....

or a pillow from the artistic Jennifer in your bedroom?

even this pin I made with a custom Blessed Mother pin that sits next to your favorite rosary?....

If you did come to the sale........then why don't we keep the fun going??

Let's have some fun!!!

The Patisserie

Let's start with something sweet...

The Patisserie

I took very little photographs....but I'm sure some of you ladies and gents will share right?

please do

just to the left, nestled in the corner of the barn I created a tiny bistro area with water fountain bubbling and a few tables and chairs for a cup of cafe and a cupcake or macron...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
creating the "Patisserie Couture" gown that sat on top of the glass cabinet, was THE funnest project...and actually is what started the whole idea for the Patisserie....that and being inspired by Parisienne Farmgirl
it is a vintage wedding gown (for seriously a size -2) that I altered with the most delicious cupcake pink fabric and coffee filters
i skirted a little table for our wrapping area, complete with an Italian crystal candelabra
the giddiness was totally there
and all the work we put into it totally was worth it to see the smiles on the faces of everyone when they entered under the draped ceiling and lit chandelier hanging from the rafters....and it almost brought tears to my eyes to see two women enjoying my mini lemon bundt cake in the cafe with their coffees i think the Patisserie was just as successful (if not more so) than the Elizabeth's I sold...
as more pictures emerge totally tell me so I know okay?
Have a wonderful Monday......
if you need to e-mail me, please do so (temporarily at: ndfmama@gmail.com)
B.Y.O.B. .....Nada Farm Sale Style!
Good Evening ladies,
Parisienne Farmgirl still here. Anne's computer hopes to find it's way home later this week. In the meantime, it is our hope that you would find a great use for that cupboard of shopping bags and bring them to the sale (filling them up of course :) It's our way of recycling and clearing the clutter! B.Y.O.B!
If you need directions or info please feel free to email me at angelovesparis@gmail.com and will point you in the direction of The Petit Flea Market!
much love and peace..Angela &.
5.15.2010
Bonjour mesdames!
Parisienne Farmgirl here for the ever-darling Anne Marie... her computer is on the fritz... again. (But don't worry, email inquiries concerning the sale are still being responded too!)
Can you say, "Bad Timing"?
La pauvre.
As if she does not have enough to think about.
The days are rolling by at such a pace now! We are so excited for you all!
Remember that first time you walked into Anthropology or that first time you found a blog that was so, "you" ... remember that giddiness you felt... wanting to check out every nook and cranny... wanting to savor the experience... the moment...
Well, prepare yourself... that is all I can say after seeing it all come together yesterday is "prepare yourself."
Yesterday was "all hands on deck" for set up... display... merchandising... Everyone has their own story to tell... their own heart and soul that they are pouring into this sale...
And just like real life... it's not all pink lace and vintage beauty... sometimes there is an unwelcome intrusion in the middle of the day...
Here is my most recent take on getting ready for the Nada Farm sale...
See your next weekend!
-Angela,
Parisienne Farmgirl and of course, Anne Marie!
5.11.2010
kitchen caddy...
pink is the color on the farm this year......
it is very unlike me to do so, but I'm really enjoying embracing such femininity lately....
today is windy.......cold......rainy.......and these roses
(three light pink for the boys + 2 darker pink for the girls)
...are so fragrantly sweet (as are my children)
and I'm sure you are all tired of seeing the sale preparations and peeks!!
********so let's not talk about the barn sale for a few secs********
shopping recently at a local antiques store (go figure) brought me upon a set of dishes that I knew were coming home with me asap...
they are American made, from early 1900's......
how can anyone buy new dishes? when the antiques stores are abundant with such fantastic pieces!! Not like I needed any more dishes......
but how could I resist these with their loveliness?
for tea.....dinner parties outdoors......for even my morning muffin
it makes my kitchen
I had a lovely time (with some serious discussions) with a very intelligent, talented, and down to earth girl......Jen.....
she "just gets" so much of the organic thing
she very much impressed me with her openness of talking about it - smartly -
yesterday Jen came with some of her items for the sale, and I'm looking forward to the time when I can "sit campfire style" Friday night with her and just chat
(after the sale is done Friday night and all the guests have gone)
thanks Jen, for a wonderful afternoon! I truly hope you enjoyed your stay at the farm
(serious conversations and all)
much love and peace...
5.10.2010
unexplainable.......
a couple more peeks
an artichoke
and a HUGE load
the to do list is a mile long for this lady
but so worth it!
Can't wait to meet you all, and see the friends I have made thus far!!
5.08.2010
Happy Mother's Day!!
(my youngest daughter and me, four years ago)
much love and peace...
5.06.2010
my disclosure.......
it's so funny (not really ha-ha..........which I seem to say a lot)....
because the nerves are kicking in now.......
what if you guys don't like my farm
what if "the objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" syndrome.......
(my farm isn't the same in person is on film)
SO..........
I feel like I need to make a disclosure: so here goes (ha!)
Dear Friend/Visitors to Na-Da Farm,
Anne Marie is not responsible for the weeds you will see in the garden.........or dirty chicken pens..........
She is also not responsible for her expectations not met, because apparently, her husband, is "only one man"...........
Anne Marie is also not accountable for anything she might say out of pure joy of standing in her own Patisserie in her horse barn selling her homemade cupcakes........she might just freak out with giddiness every time someone buys one of her cakes........
Lastly, Anne Marie, and anyone affiliated with selling, or helping with setting up for the sale, is not responsible for taking really good photographs with you.........which includes Anne Marie's hairdo that day........or any mud stains on her dress
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
the staff at Na-Da Farm (a.k.a. Anne Marie and her husband)
much love and peace...
what's in season.....
Cooking what's in the garden.....in season.....is how I love to cook
and besides crisp lettuce, leeks are ready and delicious!!
no trans or saturated fat.........
2g of dietary fiber...
30% Vitamin A
18% Vitamin C
even some Calcium at 5% along with 10% Iron
all in leeks........
sauteed quickly with some mushrooms in olive oil.........
just to where the leeks get softened
serve with rice, roasted potatoes and (optional) strips of beef from the roast you had the night before.......
yum
~ enjoy your garden...enjoy your kitchen~
much love and peace...
