during one of those times I was reading about angels....true angels....not some flowy gowned pixie dust spreading angel......but the truth of angels....
how we are so very different from them
they are in a constant state with God - seeing Him at all times - being with Him at all times
I don't know about you, but I don't always feel the presence of God
there are dry times.....then there are fruitful times........times where it's like I was sitting in the dark reading a book, and someone came and turned on the light so I could see
that night reading of angels, that light got turned on
a connection of understanding that will never ever leave me
that feeling is addicting.......I yearn for that feeling of connection.......addicted I am
our selves....are spirits....are from God......the Lord granted us this time on Earth.......and the bodies which we have, are "holding" that spirit of ours
I will never look at my children the same way again....after realizing this, my responsibility for guiding them the way I am is even more profound......showing them what to do with these bodies......
guiding others.....helping another.....planting food for others.....helping those amazing animals we have
it's truly incredible when you think of that......that our bodies are holding our spirits and we have this awesome gift of using our bodies....the angels do not share this......they are spirits in themselves.....no bodies
if they were to materialize, I am sure they would be sword in hand and ever so powerful.....they are there to protect and guide us....not spread pixie dust.......
we have been chosen to be on this Earth.....we have been chosen to use these bodies
when our bodies are separated from our spirit upon our death.....our spirit will not be contained any longer -
now that is amazing......truly truly amazing......
we have a choice on what to do with these bodies......these hands.......
Truly Beautiful and inspirational. I could really feel your heart. The pics were also beautiful. We know our Lord in a whole different light from angels. They will never be able to understand the sacrafice He paid for us. We are to serve and worship him through these earthly vessels, but someday we will be gathering around the throne and worshipping him in heaven.....tremendous, His love for us. ReplyDeleteAnne Marie, this is so beautiful. If there was a specific book that you are reading about angels, could you share the title please? With my mom's spirit having left her physical body on the 31st of October, I am reading whatever I can get my hands on to help with me accepting her passing. This post has certainly given me a new perspective on our time here on earth and I thank you so much for that. Your spirit is so beauiful, as is the shell it is contained in. How very odd. I came to the same realization this weekend myself. Realizing that we were sent here to earth on a mission. We were given this "earth suit" to house our spirit until we are reunited with our Creator. We are His hands, His feet, His mouth, His heart and what we do while stationed here on this planet will determine our place in eternity. Totally awesome! What a mission to know that we can be responsible for another's place in eternity. What an awesome God we serve. Not as a servant, but as a son. A son that serves. He truly deserves all of our praise and thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. May I ask, what book were you reading? I would love to read it. I always think of the angels during the consecration at mass and how our priest told us that at that time we are surrounded by the angels and saints. Our daily mass is in a little chapel ( seats maybe 20 people ) and I can just picture all of the angels surrounding us.
