I have been wondering lately what to do with that front room...sunroom....new baby room....

I'm thinking "studio"......

{via}

keeping a hold of the dreams I had when younger........and achieving the goals that I have now as an adult and the result of the constant determination to achieve those goals....and the many many surprises that have entered my life.....especially within the past 10 years of living here on the farm.....

I embrace the everyday with the before the kids wake up with the enthusiasm of a warm cup of coffee and a walk outdoors....and even the thought of a new day excites me!  What can I do today that will make me a better person........what can I do today that will help someone else........what can I do today to glorify Him.........

it's all so amazingly exciting living a life free from all constraints of the world........being free to live the life He wants me to live

sure I would love a red flashing light surrounded by gigantic arrows to point me in the direction without doubt...but that isn't reality.....I'm trying to do my best the only way I know how......and that is different from you, or my sisters, or my kids, or my husband, or my very close friends....

Basically, I am looking forward to having a place to sew and draw.......write and create with my oldest daughter.........and son, and other son, and other daughter, and another son, and another little boy....wherever 'mama' is - they are

and I don't mean that in a bad way...I can't imagine me sitting in a craft room all my by myself without Daniel's little pitter patter crawl over to me to pick him up...or the sounds of my middle son playing his harmonica in the family room........and even though there are times (and believe me there are) when one does something to the other and I need to step in and give them some guidance.....

I.    would.    not.   want it.   any other way.

I have one life to live

peace + blessings,

  1. There are days...well, minutes... when I think:
"who made me decide to live like this?" With all the chores a house and a farm like ours entail, and my job here in my family business as well.
There are times I would love to be at stay-at-home mum...
But after a couple of minutes I usually smile and say to myself: you did decide it and you love it. So, hold on and thank for this wonderful life you have (and believe me,this new me is thank to my son but you and your words have a big part in it, too)!
    Thank you Anne Marie.

  3. I would love a sunny little studio too. A place to take out all the things I love and not have to put them away because it's time for dinner or some such thing. A place to draw and paint with my daughter...and take photos, of course. Sigh. That would be wonderful :)

  5. Dear Anne Marie,
I think that a sewing room would be wonderful for you. You already create such beautiful things, so just think what you could do in your own studio.Your creative juices will runneth over.
I will look forward to see what you will create. XXXX

  6. Iam a new follower to your blog and I have loved reading your inspirational posts!
I have a sewing room and love it. One of the main reasons is my children flock in and create along side me. I love it!
    Thanks again for your inspiration!

  8. What a wonderful idea! My sewing room is one of my favorite places in the entire house. It's bright and cheery with a big, overstuffed chair where my kids seem to gravitate towards when I'm up there. It's really the only place they totally open up! I guess because there are no distractions there, it makes it a little more inviting!
Excited to see what you do!!

  9. Yes, that the coveted Me space that turns into a WE space! I believe we all need that little corner of the world where we can go to let the creativity run wild. But sometimes even in the biggest of spaces there are no options.

I used to paint, draw, crochet...what-not....I found that the little ones kept getting into everything so I've turned to photography as my only art form--at least I can hide my camera! Sound ridiculous but trying to keep a craft room in order with nine kids is like leaving candy sitting out at their disposal--fun and colorful!--but a mess and disaster waiting to happen...Most days I wish I lived on a farm so I could keep my crafts and other items out of the general household mess by setting up shop in a small barn or garage...I could do that year round here in AZ except for the real hot months....someday!

I live in a rural area so I can relate to the feeling of living freely....it does definitely help with the creativity! Have a great weekend.

  11. I have to tell you that your post has touched my heart. Right now I am (and my family) are having a "faith building trial" and as I read your post I thought of what blessings we have received these past few weeks. Thank you.

  12. Love this. By honoring our gifts, we honor Him. But figuring out is a whole other story!! LOL. I am lucky to have a studio, and whenever I'm n there, the boys are too. Just the way it is. They get out their supplies from their cabinet, and go to town. My oldest wants to learn to sew too!

  13. Walk into like my sweet friend trusting in him to guide you in the right path :)

A studio of your dreams will be a studio place with honor you will make sure of it and a place you inspire us all.

Blessings Anne Marie for all you give and all we take with us when we leave your place of beauty.

    xx
