be yourself...be creative (part II)

my workspace is rather cluttered right now...especially since that hutch was moved to the kitchen...but I rather like it right now....

it's dripping with lace, textures, color, and the scent of a rose...

For every Event on the farm, or any huge sewing project for a client, I always do an inspiration board

it keeps me focused and I'm surprised at how often things turn out how I
envisioned them in my head onto the board

all messy and random
(yup, that's pretty much sums me up)

i put on there:
vintage trim, buttons, inspiring pictures........

it's the lace and textures that are inspiring me for the May Event...
and pretty much my life in general

Where I sit...

I'm even enjoying making some mixed media art, with this as inspiration....

The image was given to me by my good friend Tracey at Christmas...I love it
Tracey is having a FANTASTIC giveaway right now!!!

here's one of the items!

I also wanted to make sure you know about how another good friend Maria opened her
new online shop this past week

and it's gorgeously photographed and styled
(later this week I'll show you what she sent me in the mail...)

  13. Inspiring as always. I wanted to let you know that I linked to you in a little award thing. I realize you may not do those, with such a large readership, but I wanted everyone to know that I think your blog is the "bee's knees." :)

Wow have you developed your blog into a wonderful feast for the eyes. I am so happy to see you focusing on your clothing as well. Your an amazing woman. Things are well here. I actually think today I might post as I am going to embark on a creative journey this year. Last year was focused on my health and making my body strong to fight an autoimmune disease I have been struggling. I can honestly say I am in much better shape after a year of strenght training and cardio work. With that taken care of I now have more energy to take on my creative bug that sits in waiting.
Thank you for checking in on me...it made my heart skip a beat to see your name in the inbox. I plan on attending your May event and look forward to seeing you. Again, your blog has evolved into something that fits you perfectly.
    All my best,
    Janet

  18. Ann-Marie...loved your 2 part post on creativity! Yes, we are thinking along the same line. :) I love your inspiration board...funny thing, I am working with lace and some textures too for my Spring line. Love lace! ;) Thank you so much for your sweet visit! I didn't know you had 5 and 1 on the way...what a blessing!! When are you due? We have 1 girl (our oldest 15) and 4 boys...14, 13, 9 and 6. I would have loved to have one more...I had to have c-sections with my children (don't progress) so, it became a decision of health to be done. We still feel like one spirit is missing here...have talked about adoption in the next couple of years...we will see the direction God gives us. Thank you for your visit...I hope you will be by often and I here too. Looking forward to getting to know you better. Hugs and love friend!!
