yes, about the baby due in a few short weeks...but honestly, this May Event is really the best thing that could be for me right now......a blessing if you will.......
My Hungarian roots are colorized by the true gypsy blood that runs through my veins...

stories of dirt floor huts, and brushing the dirt with a special rake to make patterns in the floor when company comes to visit.........seriously........
no joke!! I am from Gypsy Blood
(I know what you are thinking...."oooohhhh....that explains it!) lol
you have no idea how badly I want to make a gypsy hut of my own........
or at least bring in more textures and colors into my home decor.......
so I'm trying......
I just bought 2 pink chairs for my living room - PINK!
(do you think my gypsy soul is telling me it's a girl?)
Our home is pretty 'prairie farmhouse', but I came up with a new one that I really like:
"PRAIRIE GYPSY"
that's me!

but I tend to crave solitude colors as well........and would love to spruce up the corn crib like this:

see? didn't I tell you I was random?
thoughts are like that when you just had a braxton/hicks contraction
and some sugared treats with milk
(craving)
I tend to dress the same way...sometimes pure linen with simple drop earrings....or a classic long denim skirt with a t-shirt top and funky hat or head scarf
it never is the same
and neither should my "decorating"
I am no decorator...not one bit do I think so, but I do like expressing myself around my home
with sometimes new furniture, new drapes I made, or a simple throw
and don't you worry! I am still focused on that master bedroom!!

Have a wonderful Thursday, my dear.

Yes - have exactly what you want! some days are lush gypsy roses, and others are chaste white lilies~
ReplyDeleteImagine that, a gypsy! I would call you an artist. I love your colors. Is this baby #7 arriving soon? Blessings to you. xo
ReplyDeleteNew mama to be is definitely nesting : D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy sweetie

I love how you are embracing who you are (you always have) and try to incorporate it into your home and your lifestyle. I love the inspiration for the corn crib. Stunning sofa. I think either way you go is great.

but you are a decorator my dear. you have a beautiful style. can't wait to see how you incorporate your new pink chairs.
ReplyDeleteOh my friend...you think like me...I have so many styles...I do love the all whites but adore ...adore colour! I am always mixed up ....never knowing which way to turn...my home reflects that! tee hee.
ReplyDeletelove and hugs to you....whatever you touch will be stunning! xoxxo
Hi Anne Marie!
ReplyDeleteI am new to your blog and have enjoyed it immensely.
What fun things to ponder while you await your new arrival!
I look forward to reading more.
Oh Anne Marie.....you're speaking right to my heart! I know exactly what you mean. I adore all those whites and the dreamy solitude they offer but part of me craves color too. I just can't seem to pull off an all white, ethereal scheme...maybe it's because I'm a bit random too...hmmm...
ReplyDeleteI'll bet your pink chairs look amazing. You know, you just might be having a girl. When I was pregnant with Abigail, I bought a few pink things too. Turns out, she was a girl after all.
Blessings to you and prayers that you're feeling well during these last few weeks. They're so special aren't they?
xo,
Kathleen
Looking forward to seeing your "pink chairs" I'll bet they are beautiful! Maybe it's a sign . . . do you have a name picked out yet? Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteLoVe ALL the looks!!! I'm Bohemian/Polish ~ "SHaBBy" is in my blood line... EVERYTHING will be happening before we know it... Time to dream right now... WINTER...
ReplyDeleteJeanine, ChiPPy!-SHaBBy!
You are darling, Anne Marie!
ReplyDeleteAnd all your self-expressions are absolutely beautiful!
Anne Marie, so glad you stopped by my blog today and thank you for the kind words following our farmhouse fire. Your site is lovely and I enjoy the process of self reflection in decorating. My styles tend to wander all the time but I ultimately come back to a vintage relaxed and rustic interior. Will be stopping in again to follow up on the farm goodness found here.
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a Pairie Gypsy Style...
ReplyDeleteHi Anne Marie~
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you to have that baby! I just love your style...and you ARE a decorator. I love it when you post pictures of your home. It is so wonderfully homey, relaxing and beautifully decorated. I always get ideas!
My Godfather is Hungarian...I used to love to visit his parents...they had such a lovely accent. Prairie Gypsy style is perfect...I think you beginning a fantastic new trend:).

You've just created a new style that alot of gals will be embracing, Anne-Marie! :) I loved learning more about who you are and what makes you such a sweet person. Yes, I think, too, that you are nesting and preparing for that little Hungarian! :) Hugs, sweetie!

You not a decorator....I beg to differ!! You have a gift that most of us don't....making everything you touch look warm and inviting..and thats why I adore you.....silly girl! x0x0
ReplyDeleteI'm drawn to the gypsy decor as well. A gypsy hut sounds perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou know what Anne Marie?
ReplyDeleteI can see you seated on that beautiful, colorful, gipsy armchair over there, oh, how I can see you!
Focused on 20 things at the moment...I perfectly know that....my brain is a mess at the moment....will I be able to complete all my projects (which are both projects for my job, my family,my home, my farm, me....) oh my....I do not know!
Braxton Hicks...yes...I know something about that!! Ih ih!

I think you have great style Anne Marie! Everyone is a decorator, in some way, they just each have their own look. I can't wait to see your pink chairs. Maybe you are having a girl. Both times I was pregnant I just "knew" what I was going to have and I was right. Best wishes ♥
ReplyDeleteAll of this wonderful randomness is what makes you so special, Anne Marie! Can't wait to see those pink chairs of yours...
ReplyDeleteooh la la. ;-)
Have a wonderful weekend!
