wednesday sound...

the rhythm of music can change your perspective...your mood...

which can be a good thing!

there are times when this farm gypsy lover of music just has to share with you

Josh Garrels is one of them...........how would I describe his music style?

Poetic, creative, talented, fresh, genuine

in my written journal that resides next to my bed and captures my evening sentiments and dreams of tomorrow, music does the same for me

as i am a self-taught acoustic guitar singer/songwriter, i am very much impressed with Josh's ability to sound out his real life through his music

as I share my life...music doesn't seem right to be separated from this online journal

sometimes on a Wednesday, I will feature a special artist...one that we are listening to on the farm....

you have to look at people without judging them....beard, no beard...tattoo, no tatoo...you don't know their faith......you don't know their history.......all you know is that he/she is your brethren

Josh Garrels

how are you going to change the world?

those that are the smallest I think make the biggest impact.......
not the giants shouting from the mountain tops.....
 humility is love....love is humility

what has this got to do with music?  everything
when you are an artist, whether of sculpture, clothing or music, yourself is expressed through that art

it's a beautiful thing.........and can change your life.......

now if only Josh would come out with an LP (hint hint Josh)

  1. Anne Marie, thank you for sharing this wonderful artist with us. Like you I am always looking for music that really move me. Josh reminds me of the folk style of music created by Damian Rice. For some reason I've never heard of Josh, now I have to google him :)

  3. Anne Marie, you are very correct that music can change a life--and all for the better. Music is a big part of the lives of my kids...together they play the piano, guitar, drums, harmonica, vocals, (a little french horn and trumpet). I hear them play everything from Bach to rock. What a sound and I pray that someday they can share it with everyone!! It was a very proud moment for me to her my daughter sing the National Anthem at her high school baskeball game. YEAH. BTW I love the video.

  6. Thank you so much for sharing this! I love the LORD and I am always looking for good music of this genre to listen to that glorifies Him! And they are in my neck of the woods! Please feel free to share any other loves you have!
I love Amos Lee, although he doesn't sing about Jesus, he has a beautiful, bluesy, inspiring voice as well.

  7. I love music - can't even begin to imagine the world without it. Thanks for sharing Josh (also the name of my firstborn) with us, Anne Marie. I really like the classical elements of this piece, coupled with the ethereal sounds of the vocals and handbells. Just beautiful!

  8. Thank you so much for this post. I feel that finding good music is as elusive as finding a good book and I am always on the lookout for both. I love folk and bluegrass music and this definitely fits the bill. Music is such an atmosphere and mood changer...it can soothe and inspire. I am excited about this!!!
