At this time of Lent
there is a call for prayer
fasting
and almsgiving
however
this could possibly lead us to turn inward
pull away from our families
or neglect them in order to help those in need
We must stay focused on our families first........they are our first priorities
and even if you aren't a believer in Christ, or a certain denomination......fasting and almsgiving is still beneficial to the world
~ let us care not to care, for those things of this world
~ let us sit still
~may we ever be comforting those around us
~ even upon the rock, our peace can be found
~ Spirit within the river, the prairie, the seas...let us suffer no more apart from Thee
~ Our cries come out to Thee

peaceful blessings,

Your words are beautiful Anne Marie. At the church I attend they call this our "oikos", Greek for household or extended family. It's the 8 to 15 people God has supernaturally and strategically placed in our relational worlds. We are all Christ's partners in world-change.
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely reaching yours my friend :-)

ReplyDeleteI love the season of Lent--my second favorite church season next to Christmas.
A time to sit still and gather your thoughts. To listen.
A time for both reflecting on the past, and looking forward with hope for the future.
I am ready.

The Lenten season is one of my favorite parts of the year. It is a time we reflect as a family and sacrifice, give, and renew our faith for Christ. Your words are beautiful! Thanks for the reminder to look for ways to comfort those around us! I love your insight:).
