I received this book from a good friend this Christmas:

thanks Jenn
because she knows how much I do love them :)
she even brought me TWO boxes of macarons when I was expecting...because that's what friends do!
anyhow.......I haven't made any up to today.....but I had to get my mind off of how I'm looming to 2 weeks overdue....so this was a great distraction today......and totally worth the EASY EFFORT!
If you haven't made macarons.....don't be intimidated!! they ARE easy!!!
We even made our own fresh organic lemon curd and strawberry filling for the inside......
(when I saw "we" I mean my lovely daughter and I)

our strawberry jam-type filling macaron
yes...I know that they are flat....(I don't care....and if you do...then I still don't care :)

our homemade organic lemon curd filled macaron
yum - o - ramma
no...they aren't perfect......but neither am I......and I don't care if they footed well or whatever
they were so fun and easy to make and I see many more happy days ahead
in the kitchen making these cookies
some people 'scoff' at a 'not so perfectly made' macaron...seriously?
who gives a darn!
get in that kitchen and try something different...something you have been wanting to do....
it's only sugar and almonds for pete's sake
enjoy that kitchen!!
(p.s. it's a heck of lot cheaper than buying them at Trader Joe's too...AND you know what's in them!)
xo+blessings,

Looks Yummy. .. The baby will be here soon.I know it seem too long. All in due time as they say. Thinking of you and too patiently waiting too for your news of a baby.Where is that stork?? He he. have a warm and cozy evening..Chickie
ReplyDeleteI see you are trying all different things to try and persuade this little one to sneek a peek outside...tell him its lovely, its spring where you are, he has brothers and sisters waiting to love him, and most of all mummy and daddy waiting to see his face and smell that newborn baby...oh, and there are macarons....what could be more tempting....
ReplyDeleteAre you running out of room for baby? Unfortunately, well , not unfortunately really as my 3 are pure blessings..I had to have three necessary c sections, so the mystery of waiting and knowing when a baby is ready, is all unknown and a bit magical to me...although the waiting, especially this long would be hard, I think it beats knowing down to the almost minute when your baby will be born...but again, I am so lucky to have them...I am sure it will not be much longer....xx Suzanne.
They do look yummy! Lets just see that baby coming soon. Florence
ReplyDeleteThese look so yummy! I've had macarons in Paris and yours look just as delicious, plus you've encouraged me to give them a try!
ReplyDeleteI hope that sweet baby comes soon.
Kat :)
That is great encouragement! I plan to make them for my birthday party and bought all of the ingredients but haven't tried yet...too worried about failing! But I think I will go ahead and try tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't have to wait too much longer for that baby! I've made macarones. Once. It wasn't all that hard, just took me awhile. BUT they were DELISH!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lorilee
Where is that baby!? Why don't you try eating some Mexican food Anne Marie? My first time around I went into labor after eating that :)
ReplyDeleteThose macaroons look yummy. I've never had one. Can you believe it? Me either.
I just had a thought. Wouldn't it be funny if your wee one arrived on April Fools day? I know you're thinking "No!" :)Tricia

ReplyDeleteso enjoy them lopsided, flat whatever- besides the best part is making them with your daughter. : D

Mmm macaron! Looks great! I think I am going to make an attempt to make my first ones this season.. and I've gotta make "rose" ones; those are my favorites. ;) Oh yeah those downtown Geneva stores.. they set my heart palpitating! :) I hope I can make it to your pretty barn for the next sale. We are a 1-vehicle family right now.. so lifes been tough.. so wish I could do more! Best wishes with your baby!

Lara
Oh so glad you did this post.I was just reading a recipe today wondering if I could make these or not.~Cheers Kim
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty good to me! Have you ever made tuiles? Egg whites, sugar and almonds (must be another ingredient but I can't remember it). Good for leftover egg whites because they are NOT meringues!
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie, your macaroons look perfect to me! I've been intrigued with the French ones since I read about them on someone's blog about a year ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the baby update. I was wonderng! I'm sure it won't be long now. (Really went out on a limb there, didn't I? lol)
Blessings,
Donna
An old saying from an Italian Nana, "the first one comes anytime, the second one comes in 9 months" or was it vice versa ???---make sense to you? if not, just thought I'd share.
ReplyDeleteHope he/she comes soon!
This is such a funny post! I love your macarons and really...who cares?
ReplyDeleteThey look so yummy...mmmm!!!
Oh that little baby boy/girl is another (like mine!!) lazy one...guess it is a boy..they take life at a slower pace!! Ah ah!!
I send you lots of love my dear friend.

ReplyDeletePattie
Can you believe I've never eaten a macaron?! These look so yummy, and the thought of homemade lemon and strawberry filling makes my mouth water.
ReplyDeleteBaby must be pretty comfy and secure, but one of these days.....
They look and sound absolutely delicious Anne Marie!!! You amaze me! I just wanted to drop by and let you know I am thinking of you :))
ReplyDeleteBlessings and a big hug ~
:) T
i think they do look perfect. perfectly delicious!!! i had my first macaron at your barn sale. yum!!!
ReplyDeleteI was first enticed by a beautiful rainbow of these beauties about a year ago on Parisienne Farmgirl's blog! I have yet to sink my teeth into one of them, but someday...someday!
ReplyDeleteAngela also had the cure for overdue babes...did you see it on her blog right before she had Juliette, she told what it was...perhaps your wee one could be "coaxed" to come in the same way? I have been overdue (four weeks for middle son!! Back in the stone ages!) and had I known I could help things along, I sure would have, as medically induced labor is awful!
Hoping to hear some baby news soon!
Joni
Yummy!;) Have a wonderful week and hopefully your little blessing will be here soon!! Hugs,Rachel
ReplyDeleteFrench Farmhouse 425
You know, I have never eaten one.
ReplyDeleteHey- they look good enough to eat...and that is the goal, right? If you want pretty ones to sell, I am sure that takes practice. There are worse things to have to practice.
ReplyDeleteHang in there. I was over 2 weeks once. It's worth it in the end...as you well know.
What a yummy macarons book! Sounds delicious! Enjoy the wonderful day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteYou have me drooling over here. I don't care how they look, I bet they taste delicious.
ReplyDeleteBrave brave you! I have never tried making macaroons, but you make me want to try. Two weeks late! Have you tried digging over the garden? that should help things on!
ReplyDeleteSharon
