GREED
purging unused items and donating them to goodwill or another such organization is a great
way to detach myself from material objects
and a way to fight off GREED
what I am meditating on today:
embracing people and relationships instead of material objects
xo+blessings,

Dear Anne Marie, I am so enjoying following you along this week on your journey of self~discovery and what is truly important in our lives... I have started cleaning out material objects I no longer feel I need, trying even harder to simplify my life too and embrace the people and all of God's creatures I so love... I am taking all of my items to a local consignment~second hand shop... the money I earn I will donate to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Northern Utah to help with all of the little injured birds and critters brought in this time of year... this brings me much happiness and peace...while getting rid of more material objects... love to you... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI've been doing the same in my home. I'm striving for a true, simple, minimalistic lifestyle, free of clutter and meaningless objects. We have a tendency to accept too many second-hand items and I need to learn how to say no, thank you. And my daughter needs to stop hoarding stuffed animals(she has 67).
ReplyDeleteFunny how greed can become invisible...I take for granted what I have and ignore my wealth. It's a constant struggle to live on less--and less and less.
ReplyDeleteThose dishes are so beautiful and I think I may have seen them as a child, many, many years ago. The table and all your decorations are lovely. You have a precious new baby, how sweet.
ReplyDeletei always feel so good when i donate things to Goodwill, etc.! freedom of clutter and happy that someone who needs the things i don't may find them.
ReplyDeleteI am in the midst of a big Purge and find that at this time of year, just before Easter, is always when the desire becomes strong to get rid of excess and find it a new Home. Such a good feeling... and even though I really do love all of my lovelies... after a Season it is usually time for them to be enjoyed by someone else... and for me to 'let go' and detach from the material and focus on the Spiritual...
