with a brand new baby, and five other children to care for, my life keeps me busy...but it never keeps me cooped up...
it's when I take them places and enjoy even shopping for antiques that I see them blossom...
shopping with all of us together doesn't happen often, but when they are told, with keys in my hand..."Okay! let's get in the car......Mama has a surprise for you!!" (I never give them notice...it's always a surprise because you just never know what will prevent me from actually acting out a "plan")......they all yell with joy and go get dressed into 'good clothes' (as we say here on the farm...which usually means 'clean')
take this little lady here.........a skirt I made with a horse applique + head band that me and my oldest daughter made......she's getting so big.........
and this guy........man alive is he getting big........and if anyone is going through the changes it's him
but oh my sweet son
I miss holding you in my arms....
I seriously cannot express the joys of having a large family.......
but out of all of the children, these two are on the threshold

ReplyDeleteOh Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteYou have the lovliest family. They really do grow fast, don't they ?!!
Now that our grandson is here, we can watch him grow. It is such a wondeful thing, having a grandchild.
I'm sure that your Daniel is thriving and changing fast.
You are indeed blessed. XXXX
Beautiful children, hope you are getting all your preps done for your upcoming event...it sounds so lovely Anne Marie, I cant wait to hear all about it over here in Australia..Suzanne, xx
ReplyDeleteSweet kids!! They clean up nicely--ha ha. And yes, how they seem to grow up right before your eyes.
ReplyDeleteMy oldest is about to graduate from college (!!!!) and find her very first big girl job. My son will begin his second year of college this fall, and my youngest is learning to drive the same car passed down from her sis.
Sometimes I try to bribe my older two home with money, a hot meal, or doing their laundry. I'm not ashamed to admit that.
You must have your hands full, but what fun it would be to have a large family!
Oh your kids are so beautiful my sweet friend...inside and out I am sure! You are truly blessed! Our Meg leaves for Haiti a week today..I am so worried about her,but we have to let them go,right? x0x0

ReplyDeleteHi Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteI am one of your newer followers.
I had my baby boy on March 31 (too).
Anyway we have so much in common.
I also don't tell my kids ahead of time I am taking them to somewhere "fun". I so dislike does dissapointed faces if I "bail-out".
Which can happen so easily with 6 kids! One always is sick or feeling Yuckkie and with homeschooling. Enough said...
Funny though that here in the area where I live. My size family (all together 8) We are considered a medium size family.
I love your blog... so refreshing.
Beautiful photo's by the way of your kids. I love the chipped paint in the background. The perfect canvas!
Did you buy anything that day?
What a sweet kids you have !! lovely day darling...love Ria....xxx...
ReplyDeleteYour kiddos just radiate goodness and wholesomeness.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you, mama!
XO,
Anne

Anne Marie!

PS: Looking forward
to next week!
I am so happy to read this beautiful post Anne Maire. Those of us who have chosen to raise large families know the joy that resides within our walls. And we should let people know the joys of it. I always get the comments of 'how in the world do you do it' or (loved this one)not) 'do you know what causes that...or this one, 'you must not have tv'. They don't get that it was a concious choice for me and my husband. We both came from families with six children and wanted that for our own family. I am extremely close to my siblings and my own children, now grown, are all extremely close as well. There is nothing better in life than that. I have never regretted my choice for a moment.
ReplyDeleteYour children are darling. I remember when my son Ladd was about the age of your sone now, and I missed the hugs so much. There was a time when he wriggled a lot when I would hug him, but I am happy to say that he never wriggles now. Our phone calls all end up in an I love you mom.
hugs from here...
Your children are adorable...such joy. xoxo hugs
ReplyDeleteMemories in the making! Beautiful family...you can 'see' the L-O-V-E! They just grow up too dog gone fast! :D
ReplyDeleteI have been so busy the past several weeks delivering orders for Easter and Mothers Day that I had gotten behind on reading my favorite blogs. I have had a great time this morning catching up on yours!! The pictures of your children are so adorable and I love that one of you and your Mother in the other post.
ReplyDeleteI see them so often but never noticed until I saw the photos just how "old" the kids are. Such sweet photos, too!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely Family Anne Marie... absolutely precious photos of your two thresh-hold offspring!
