though the power of the storm came and went
the damage is done
done to her what countless others have done
fallen
she split from the strength and the weight of what she was carrying
too heavy to carry
some of her remains strongly rooted and still alive
broken on the outside
showing weathered age and years of life
because she fell, she opened up
she has a lot left to share
though a part of her has fallen, it creates strength in other areas
where her life thrives...where it is still growing...
you will always see where she fell
one can only guess how she fell...something happened along the way when she opened up
though she didn't want to
many years
all those years were not wasted time
all the growth gave her strength to withstand so much
...share so much
just because she has fallen doesn't mean she can't go on, but sometimes it takes someone else to
take the time and shape her into another purpose
that is fresh and new
(she'll be sharing some at the upcoming October event)
beautiful words my friend...beauty from ashes
ReplyDeleteisn't the circle of life amazing ~
ReplyDeletebeautiful words to think about and live by...
It is always such a pity when a beautiful tree like that falls... and your words well...they can be used for dear people who leave us, for loved animals..yes, you always find the right words.
ReplyDeleteFra
p.s. I am curious to know what you will do with her at the october event!!
It's sad when a lovely tree falls. But, wow, she's got lovely wood and no doubt Jason will be making some beautiful things from her. By the way, I am so excited about your homestead blog. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeletebeautifully expressed.
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteAnd sometimes, we must prune the tree to make it stronger...so that it doesn't fall like so many others.
Sometimes we must prune people, places, or things from ourselves b/c they cause rot or decay...weakening our core...causing us to fall.
And although in the end...we all fall because of our humanity...we can also trace goodness and strength back to our roots...our families...ourselves... in the giving and caring of others.
Blessings,
Val
Oh the beauty of your words...........
ReplyDeleteWhat an inspiring post Anne Marie. I was thinking about how she'll keep your family warm all Winter now, sharing another part of herself.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
Beautiful words ..sigh!! :(
ReplyDeleteSad to see the beauty of your tree were not spared, but for some reason you even make sawing up the damage trees look beautiful.
Glad that the storm spared you less damage to your home life.
