original bird prints on wall created the texture I wanted |
we keep our cloth napkins and some of my collection of linens in this nice size crate now....easy to grab |
I needed a change......
I wanted to create two different areas to chat/read/school/teach/learn in.............and instead of two, now I have three (I'll share the other area tomorrow)........pleasantly surprised by this, the family really likes the change
now I have the dining room in what was the living room..........where most of the books will soon be astrewn on while their brains learn and our hearts and souls grow together..........
I can now nurse the baby on the comfy couch while helping our children.........or read with the three and seven year old while keeping an eye on the other three
excitement is building for school to start......we are just waiting for the last of the books to arrive that I ordered online.........soon..........and then the glorious sound of pencils tapping and children talking together amongst the baby's giggles and the smell of fresh bread (a daily school snack)......and the absolutely favorite of mine: the schedule
schedule is essential to anything you want to accomplish.........an organized lifestyle creates a simple frame of mind for the rest of your day and creates a peaceful harmony of all these souls under one roof
be excited for school....stay connected to your child's learning.....

ReplyDeleteSo sweet.
ReplyDeleteLove what you said about "schedules"...so very true. If one wants to accomplish much in this life, one must have a plan!
Blessings,
Val
Hi Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteYour home is so beautiful!! I love the switch! My son is excited for school as well.
Have a glorious day.
Sincerely,
Melinda
It is beautiful Anne Marie. I see how much more functional it would be for homeschooling. I remember all the changes that occurred in our home(s) during the homeschooling years. I do miss it so. By the time we found our way to Sea Cottage with the most space in a home we've ever had, we only had two years left of homeschooling. I wish we had been here sooner. But maybe it will become a homeschool once again for grandchildren. I have yet to weed through all my curriculum and books. Just don't have the heart strength to do it yet. But when I do I will let you know. You may be interested in some of our beautiful books. ox
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful earthy style. The changes were made based on what works for you, and I think it's perfect. Best wishes for your school year.
ReplyDeleteIt looks just beautiful. I love the world you've created. :-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Anne
Anne Marie, I love your home and the scene from your living room window. I was curious about the texture on your walls and how you acheived it. I would love to do something like that but a little nervous where to begin. I hope your homeschooling goes well.
ReplyDeleteIt's cozy while being bright and open!
ReplyDeletelovely! i'm awaiting our forst homeschopoling experience to start. nervous about how i'll manange it al...

Looks beautiful, Anne Marie. That sofa looks so cozy there in the sun. I need to come over here and visit you more, your writing always feels so calm and serene.

Ummm...I guess we're on the same page :) Except that YOU get everything flipped around so quickly and make it all look so wonderful so fast! I'm still sorting legos and everything from my sewing studio and the kids' art supplies and 4,000 (or at least that's how it feels) books.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the fact that I do everything with one hand while I hold baby Charlotte with the other accounts for my slowness? But you have baby Danny...so I have no excuse! Except that I'm still figuring it all out as I go along and...well...it's just going slow :( Your space is beautiful and you're gonna love it! We're already loving ours in its incomplete state. Can't wait to see the rest of yours!
