but they are so good in sports...that they are missing out
aren't you afraid they won't make friends
you don't have a degree in teaching"
after the first week of school has come and gone, and all 100%'s on all their new studies...when I came home from a short errand........
Sweet! And I love what I can see of your kitchen!
ReplyDeleteThe best teacher ever: I am pretty sure they're right!!!

It's moments like this that show us the true meaning of life. Beautiful!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
ReplyDeleteCheers!
ReplyDeleteHomeschooling....definitely a good move! We are deep into an intercountry adoption of 4 siblings from Latvia (ages 6-12) and definitely thinking of homeschooling them. Our 3 bio kids went through public and Catholic schools, and I taught hi school for 5 years, but just think our school systems are in a crises! Yep, homeschool!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special treat to come home to Anne Marie! What you are doing is for sure not an easy task, but is a good thing that does reap great rewards. Those that have never experienced what you are doing don't and can't understand it. I am here to encourage you that kids do grow up and learn and become mature responsible adults. I did what you are doing and my two sons are now grown men~ one a firefighter/paramedic and the other a US Marine. As parents we all try and do what we think is best for our children and family. Hang in there teacher/mama/friend!
ReplyDeleteI homeschooled my girls for 5 years, the whole time wondering if I was doing it wrong, were they getting enough? Was it a mistake? They opted to return to school in High school and proceeded to graduate with honors and receive praise from all their teachers. They have since continued with college and won academic scholarships. Whew! What a relief to know they weren't harmed by their "lack of socialization" and all the other things people thought they missed out on. Your kids are right, you are the best teacher they will ever have:>)
ReplyDeleteAnd that my dear, is worth more than any paycheck a teacher could ever receive. Isn't it just so great to see that in your children's eye, you are doing the right thing. LOVE THIS!!!
ReplyDeleteclearly your children are getting all the school they need from their awesome, loving, mama! i applaud you doing what is right for you and your family, no matter what anyone else may say to you!
ReplyDelete:)
There is no doubt your children are receiving "the best!"
ReplyDeleteVisiting you,
seeing your children's eyes,
seeing your vast prarie landscape
without ever a visit in person . . .
There is not a better
TEACHER
One can never second guess love and what it teaches . . .

ReplyDeletemade me little bit in tears when I read it.So touching.....!
G'day Anne Marie

Socialization is a joke if you are a natural introvert like me. Yes, I went to public school for 12 years but instead of making me more social, it made me less. After about grade 2 it was a nightmare. IF ONLY my parents had homeschooled me, what a difference schooling would have been for me!!
ReplyDeleteDon't let anyone tell you that you aren't doing what is best for YOUR children!!!
Hi Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteJust a little curiosity, Do you do homeschooling for your children.
In my thinking homeschooling method in this now days.More Secure thought!

I loved this post. I've heard all of those "reasons" over the years too, but 3 are grown now, and they aren't socially inept, they didn't "miss out" on group sports but instead treasure time spent with their family, they have plenty of friends, and all in spite on an "degree lacking" momma :) You're doing wonderful, and the proof is in those sweet notes.
ReplyDeleteMy latest post is on subway art, but in the last photo on that post, in the background is one of my most treasured possessions...a sweet little picture from my son saying "My mom is beautiful." Frame those little notes, they're just precious.
Blessings,
Marcia
