*I decided to post last year's party pictures today and tomorrow*
Party preparations last year included many things, but this hay trailerwas donated by a nearby dairy farmer, which fit the mood just perfectly.........
we parked it outside the barn we were using for the party......I loved how it was red.....

this is the 'callers station'....callers for the barn dance we have.......
over 200 people attended our party, and mostly children!.....
We have all these mismatched tables, so I took some miscellany fabric and started making "slips" for all the tables, as well as banners for the walls.......

we parked it outside the barn we were using for the party......I loved how it was red.....It was warm, so at the last minute, we put up a 4-sided tent and I literally threw furniture in there to make it cozy...............afterall...........
us women do like to have a place to ourselves........

this is the 'callers station'....callers for the barn dance we have.......my old Stella guitar and an old quilt covering up the storage shelves distracted (hopefully) people that this was still a barn....this was the first time we had the party after the barn burned....everyone - including me - was used to having not much decoration because of the nostalgia and beauty of the old barn.....(but I'm over that right?).....
over 200 people attended our party, and mostly children!.....
so I erected a small children's area -
complete with an old saddle on a hay bale for play......
this was my favorite little place to decorate for sure!

For the rest of our guests, some rather inexpensive tablecloths we had purchased awhile ago worked well with mason jars and goldenrod centering the tables........
Horse shoes weighted down the napkins - and hay was strewn on the floor for a 'barn feel' as well as to hear the rustle of the hay while dancing...........
I also had made little banners with the leftover fabric from the tablecloths and wall hangings.....

HI Anne Marie
ReplyDeleteWOW and fabulous!
What a clever and ambitious girl you are. If I ever have a party your on the payroll to decorate the theme. I just love your 'not so perfect' stars. Very very clever. x Julie
