don't you just love the purple one?
if you've followed me long enough, then you have heard I studied Environmental Science in college....and that my husband and I both have a fascination with the earth and all its habitants......especially those that come from the ground......
and how I also have a fascination with a herbarium........museum rooms..........and the like.
I recently acquired some fungi, bird and plant 'plates' (full illustration from a book) such as this one on the right.......
and I'm so excited to show you all
what I have been working
on......
just give me a few days.......

ReplyDeleteWow those were beautiful. Never seen a purple mushroom before:)
ReplyDeleteOh Anne Marie,
ReplyDeleteWhat magnificent photographs of those amazing mushrooms.
I have always shied away at collecting mushrooms for eating purposes, because I don't know enough about them.
That purple one, as beautiful as it is, definitely says 'stay away' !!!! XXXX
We had SO many mushrooms last year...I've no idea why. We eat none of them, though, because we don't know which are safe.
ReplyDeleteMy FIL used to mushroom hunt. We used to eat a ton, now in the last few years with his eye sight, I kinda think it's safer to not too... I keep checking under my raspberries for our asparagus.... I love botanical plates! I studied botanical art, it's one of my passions! Love those!
ReplyDeletelove the botanicals...the fungi...pretty to look at...and now my interest in really piqued...what ARE those projects??/can't wait to see!

ReplyDeleteI have never been a mushroom collector but I do like to eat them...I would be afraid of collecting the wrong ones and we would all get sick. I do love those amazing carved ones you found on your walk. xoxo Happy week to you.
ReplyDeleteFascinating, aren't they? I love the carved one in the woods! It made me smile.
