it's so funny (not really ha-ha..........which I seem to say a lot)....
because the nerves are kicking in now.......
because the nerves are kicking in now.......
what if you guys don't like my farm
what if "the objects in the mirror are closer than they appear" syndrome.......
(my farm isn't the same in person is on film)
(my farm isn't the same in person is on film)
SO..........
I feel like I need to make a disclosure: so here goes (ha!)
Dear Friend/Visitors to Na-Da Farm,
Anne Marie is not responsible for the weeds you will see in the garden.........or dirty chicken pens..........
She is also not responsible for her expectations not met, because apparently, her husband, is "only one man"...........
Anne Marie is also not accountable for anything she might say out of pure joy of standing in her own Patisserie in her horse barn selling her homemade cupcakes........she might just freak out with giddiness every time someone buys one of her cakes........
Lastly, Anne Marie, and anyone affiliated with selling, or helping with setting up for the sale, is not responsible for taking really good photographs with you.........which includes Anne Marie's hairdo that day........or any mud stains on her dress
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
the staff at Na-Da Farm (a.k.a. Anne Marie and her husband)
So funny, esp. the "only one man", I think my husband feels that same way too. But I don't think you have anything to worry about...I'm sure everything will go and be great. Just remember that "pure joy"!
ReplyDelete...oh Anne Marie ~ I visit your blog because I want the nitty gritty real life!... mud and all!! Life isn't really about the destination, it's the journey, and traveling along side those with similair souls! We all have imperfect broken hearts...how else is the light supposed to shine thru?!
ReplyDeletexo, Rosemary
I just love you- I totally get this and it is sweet-
ReplyDeleteDon't be nervous! You are going to have so much fun! And, so is everyone who steps foot on your Beautiful Farm!!!
ReplyDeleteENJOY!!!

Bonjour Anne-Marie,
ReplyDeleteNo disclosures needed, it will be a raging success! After reading your blog over the past couple of months, I'm sure all the love and care you and your family have poured into your farm is the only thing that people will see!
Wish I was close enought to stop by and grab on of those cupcakes!
Happy weekend,
Mimi
So cute & funny! I have a 3 and 4 year old.. so clean up at my house is like shoveling in a snowstorm. I'm sure I'll be squealing myself when I see your cupcakes.. I'm a cupcake junkie.

You are so cute! Everything looks better in photos...I've commented about that on my own blog before...a camera can do wonders at making it look so magical. But Anne Marie...we know reality...reality is messy...the key is to have eyes to see the beauty in everything. You live on a farm, if it were neat as a pin, we may begin to wonder about you! tee hee. Enjoy the day you are eagerly waiting for. Wish I could come and hug you. ox~ Fairmaiden
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear and see these photographs of this awesome sale!I wish I could be there to pick a weed or step in some mud!
ReplyDeleteI SOOOOO Wish I could be at your sale!! It sounds like I would have a ball. Could I wear my sparkly new white dress that the dog just jumped up on for a cuddle? Could I marvel over your cupcakes and exclaim that I just don't know what to do to keep those cheeky 'extra plants' at bay?
ReplyDeletehave a wonderful sale!! Good luck. And save some of the crumbs for me ;-)
Thanks for your support. I'm going to enjoy homeschooling my wee possums!
I would positively SWOON if I were able to see your muddy dress in person! I just know - it will all be completely imperfect PERFECTION.
ReplyDeleteTake a deep breath and just enjoy!! Friends will see the flowers in your garden and not the weeds...
ReplyDeletewill you stop it now ... we know ya, we love ya ...
ReplyDeleteif anyone saw me in that red farm truck with duck tape on the bumper, they might not wanna come at all ... they'd be sayn' ... well those girls, they've got mud on their dresses and duct tape on their bumpers, oh and some of the rust spots on the old farm truck are patched with spay paint ...uh hum ... my daddy's doins.
really now, put yur'self in everyone else's shoes for just one doggone minute ... would this stop YOU from wanting a cupcake and a rustic gritty peacock nightstand?
"I feel ya"...
ReplyDeleteeach time someone is coming to our Maple Valley off-grid Farm I feel the same way.
You see, I see our farm through rose colored glasses... or so it may seem to some...
I see our farm as a canvas of creativity just waiting for my brush.
and I see our farm in my photos how "I" see it... I don't see the less than perfect quirks about it :)and there are MANY!
After I think this all through I feel more comfortable and excited that I can share with my guests my excitement for our farm.
I know you "get" this too!
xoxoxox
would love to come to your sale but not sure I can get away from the farm...
Can't wait to see pictures...
saw 3 antique pewter rosarys today at the flea market and thought of you... they were "you". they had real mother of pearl and were from Germany and the 1940's but way out of my wallet budget but the thought matters right :)
Well, I for one am going to be totally let down if I see a dandylion.
ReplyDeleteHA!
I hope that glass is strong cause between the two of us we may squeal so loud it breaks!
I swear, I think I am most excited about the Patisserie.
And, your farm is totally charming. Dandies and all.
Your too cute for words....it will all be wonderful,it has to be...your doing it!! x0x0x0
ReplyDeleteIt's so funny you should post this today...I was looking at my front garden this morning, and thinking "I should shoot a picture of those dandelions blooming in with my annuals so I could show people, it's not always what you THINK it is!" Ha! And here you are doing exactly what I was thinking! So funny! I would be thrilled to come to your sale, but I will be heading to the deep south to stay with my daughter as she waits for her baby to be born! I hope to see some fun pictures of your sale and hope I can make it next year! have lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Joni
How I would LOVE to comes see your weeds, dirty coops, mud stains and wispy hair do! All THAT is what is going to make your Barn Sale a wonderful event. Take heart and know that it's all the "imperfections" that will make it perfect.
ReplyDeleteBeth
your show and farm and dirt and weeds are all going to be fantastic, but i totally get what you are saying...i did a fun little farm camp for kids here when my own kids were little and at the end of the week, after making butter, making homemade icecream, visiting just about every farm animal imaginable, learning countless farm-y things, doing farm crafts, having numerous nature walks, etc...i ask each child to draw a picture of their favorite part of the week....8 out of 12, that's 8 out of 12 drew a picture of a very large pile of manure my husband had not spread, covered in green flies....what can i say....your enchanted guests will love ALL of Na-Da farm....
ReplyDeletePlease....its the imperfections that make life treasurable, laughter filled & bubbly. Perfect...boring as hell!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTrust me we'll love the famr!!!!!
THANK YOU!! ALL!!! I'm so blessed by your comments......maybe all the love with blind you from the imperfections (lol)
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU ALL!

Anne Marie
It will be great! Don't forget to enjoy. Cute cakes, btw.
ReplyDeleteJust look at this support Anne Marie - you're going to have a great day. Just wish I could come.
ReplyDeleteSharon
i just love that you are so real!
ReplyDeleteyour sale will be fabulous! enjoy it!
kathi
I often think the same way, but when guests arrive...they're still interested in all we do. They're here to see us, and what we've created. Not being so perfect is more endearing than a Martha Stewart type A getting stressed out when it should all be FUN! And, it will be....I so wish I could be there...Maybe someday! Enjoy every minute! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteyou are too cute. don't get nervous, the sale is going to be spectacular.
ReplyDeleteYou make me laugh.....I think I would love you more if I found a few weeds..a perfect women would just upset me. So even though I can't come please leave a few weeds around the place. xoxoxoxoxxoo
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie:
ReplyDeleteI think there should be a sign available that we could all post on our front entries saying just this same thing! We are who we are, as we are. Pure and simple. Wish I could be there to visit the farm and chat with you. It would be lovely, I'm sure.
xoxo
Donna
You are so darling! I wish I could come, it sounds absolutely wonderful. Despite the fact that you will probably have to buy your husband (only one man!) a gift or a steak dinner or something. {I know that works for my husband, poor thing, who can only "do so much" and tries his very best}
ReplyDeleteIt's all going to be PERFECT! xoxo Lidy
Anne Marie.....just had a minute to stop by and wish you luck at your sale. I know everyone will be blown away but everything you've done.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel...it can be intimidating when ppl come for a visit and have preconcieved ideas. I think we all feel that way.
Everyone will love it because they love you!!!! and that's it!
Anyone who's even had a small garden understands the work....let alone have a farm.
You rock!!!!
