When Fifi was here photographing our home for the book, she asked if I had any Cabbages and Roses fabric, and I said "no" with head hung low
(for I secretly have always wanted some)
no more was said
but then a few weeks after the shoot, Fifi sent me some of the fabric Christina had given her
I kept it folded up in my hutch to enjoy up until recently
I made some very relaxed nadafarm style curtains
un hemmed and frayed...the way I like it
relaxed, a bit rugged, and un ironed
I made a top hem just a bit over an inch wide and strung hemp twine through the top and simply tied it on the brackets on either side of the sink and then swagged it very casual like
of course, my friend Fra and Stacey inspired me
I still have a bit of the fabric left, but have it folded up in the hutch for the future
Cabbages and Roses is just so classic isn't it??
I just love linen
xo+blessings,
Anne Marie

Oh, it looks beautiful Anne Marie! I love how you left the fabric unhemmed and frayed for a simple rustic look. I haven't any C&R fabric either, but will keep a look out for the new fall line.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gift, and you've done it justice. :)

So charming and fitting for a beautiful farmhouse kitchen...I love the simplicity of them and that is my favorite pattern. I'm secretly hoping for some C&R fabric too! :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your evening ~
What can I say? It's utterly lovely! And, is that a fabric lampshade over your sink? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeletePure joy my friend...I need some of that fabric dropped on my doorstep from a special little fabric fairy.
ReplyDeleteHugs and love to you. Enjoy
Beautiful! Your type of curtain is my type too, frayed edges, love it! I love the fabric, how lucky you were to get that.

ReplyDeleteI love that fabric!! It looks so pretty & perfect for a farmhouse window! I have some dill flowering right now too & hadn't thought to put it in the house, but I love the way you've decorated with one!
Thanks for the lovely comment you left on my blog~!
Have a wonderful day

Very sweet, fresh and simple- love that!
ReplyDeleteLove the curtains, love the fabric. I also love the light over your sink. Does it pull with a chain to turn it on or does it have a switch. I have one over my sink with a pull chain and I'd sure like to find something better. Thanks. Love your blog!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! They are lovely!
ReplyDeletexo,
Lulu
Oh I just love them
ReplyDeleteHi Anne-Marie! Once again your sweet, simple creativity tugs at my heart, and also makes me think, "Why did I ever think of doing that..??" :) I love the casualness and airiness of your new curtains. Fifi is such a sweetheart to send you that beautiful fabric! There's nothing - nothing - more delicious than washed, faded, linen..... ♥

ReplyDeleteAbsolute perfection! Love the fabric, and especially love what you did with it. Your kitchen window looks exactly the way a kitchen window should look (you've got me rethinking mine now) -- I love everything about it! Your personal style just seems to reflect so much purity.
