I take the basket my father made for me to gather the bounty
My baby starts fussing
Bringing ice packs to cool Jason's stings from a foreign hive that he helped a friend with
Thirty bites at least on his hand, through his glove
Swollen with the venom of the stings
Heart aching for his pain and discomfort, he never says a word - he offers it up - my dear companion for life
The basket easily fills to the brim
Little hands to help
Little hands to hold
Little tummies to fill
Lots of little tummies to fill
Mine is empty feeling
Always trying to search for strength in the every day,
to fill my basket to the brim
If I take all my time and effort to find, pray for, ask for strength, then all I am doing is forming a habit of finding strength rather than looking inside my basket.
To sit down and look at all I have been collecting.
Like a treasure hunt...
All the items I needed to fill my basket are right there the whole time my feet and hands were moving.
I have Him....why fret over this? I can relax and enjoy Him! No need to search. No need to worry. No need to be on a treasure hunt....
May the peace of knowing you are living your life full of bounty in your basket which you are filling by living in Him give you strength....
A very special thanks for making me the 21st most popular Catholic blog under Google Subscribers....what a blessing! Thank you!! (I have gained 352 more since that list was made-thanks!)
I had not heard of this Catholic blog, but CONGRATS on your ranking, Anne Marie.
ReplyDeleteSo love your message & the wonderful pics of the wee ones. Without Him, we are nothing.
Have a great week ~

yes our baskets are full...thanks to Him. Ps. 16. Your poor husband...has it made him sick? That many stings can do that.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is endearing because you are honest, and connected with the spirit and teachings of your religion, low on dogma. I didn't know your denomination, but I am getting to know your heart.
ReplyDeleteOh my, poor Jason, I know how one bee sting feels (I was a big baby) but thirty...my goodness (Jason you are very brave)
ReplyDeleteI have a cousin that raises bees too and there honey is so lovely, my Dad just raves about it. The taste sure is different when its fresh..
Have a sweet day and a extra hug for Jason..

Oh poor Jason. I got stung by a bee at our farmhouse a few years ago and my arm stayed swollen for two weeks. I used ice and benadryl to bring down the swelling. Hope he's alright (I can imagine how painful this is). p.s. congrats on your Catholic blog ranking, Anne Marie - one of the reasons I love you and your blog so much :)
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! I love the photos of your kids and garden. Gorgeous! You have such a happy family. Congrats on the awesome ranking...well deserved!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on making the 21st most popular Catholic blog!! I know I am very Blessed by your beautiful words. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry I hit the return without leaving my name. And what is He always teaching us...patients :)
ReplyDeleteWow. I love the photos. They are marvelous. Thanks for sharing this. Pretty inspiring. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteAs a beekeeper myself, I feel your husband's pain! I like to remind myself that some believe beestings stimulate the immune system and even prevent arthritis. While I don't know that for sure, somehow, it helps! Blessings to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteOh dear,
ReplyDeleteI know how it is...daddy had 33 bites on his right hand some years ago..that brought him fever for one day. How is Jason now?
You know, I am not a Catholic like you are.. I mean, I am not so sure that there's the God our Church tells us (I am telling you this because I feel I can speak to you, even if you deeply believe in Him).
I believe there's an "energy", "something bigger than us" which I could call "The big spirit" or "Mother Nature" I guess...
Anyway,I always find your words so true and I always reflect on what you write and find strenght here.
I think my basket is empty (and sometimes that scaries me...too much luck, too many blessings...could this be forever?)
and I always thank Mother Nature (I believe in Her) for everything she has "prepared" for me and my family!
Kisses to you my dear friend.
Fra
