no complaints...

our home is not a home without the freedom for the children to self-discover their pathway in life...I know each of them will do different things...have different lives from each other...

we have a basement...as well as an attic....but most of the activity happens in the living room....I guess that's why it's called the 'living room' eh?  the forts are becoming quite elaborate....with many mazes and tunnels...

finding their path through all the colors is so fun for them......

the oldest daughter is now making dolls....so super cute!!

even me

I have my ways of having respite...and it oftentimes involves coffee and the kitchen......

but there are those times when I am able to get out of the house....(imagine!)

and this weekend is one of them.......my friend Sherrie has her studio doors open this weekend -
Friday 5-8pm and Saturday 10-2pm.......for more info, go to her facebook page: a ruffled nest...the studio

in case you haven't been there before, she sells everything from painted furniture to architectural salvage

xo + looking forward to the weekend already blessings,

  4. Don't we all love the cocoon/nesting feeling of a fort or special hide-a-way? A special place, indeed.

  7. Those forts are the best.............often our whole lounge room has been just one big giant fort.....every piece of available blanket and pillow and pegs.......are found and used....great fun, simple fun...
Im rarely away from our three beauties....but sometimes, just sometimes....I get to go by myself....and I check the back of the car because it seems like I have forgotten something...often its just a trip to the old wares shop, or I sneek into our vintage cinema for a late night movie by myself...( I love that...)....maybe a dinner with a friend....but mostly its just home, my garden, our children and my husband...and I wouldnt have it any other way.......
My little third munchkin starts kindy next week, she is four now..............I have so loved being with her...I will not like the feeling of everyone being in different places after these weeks of holidays home here together..........its the first time in over ten years that I will wander through the house and garden without anyone............Im keeping an open heart about it, as just thinking about it and typing that made my eyes well up......life is all about change..........

  10. This made me smile...my girls did this all the time with our blankets. Now they are older and my Molly and Sydney still make forts sometimes to sleep in overnight or to watch a movie! {20 and 17 years old} Yesterday my Molly wanted to have a picnic in the middle of the dinning room floor! I LOVE it! xoxoxo Hugs

  11. My little guy has recently started making blanket forts (he calls them tents) in our living room. Such a fun memory from my own childhood. I have been sewing, stitching, and trying some new bread recipes. The cold can be hard, but I do enjoy getting cozy together inside.
